Broad & deep metabolic profiling
Our non-biased broad metabolite profiling platform enables us to evaluate thousands of endogenous biochemical, as well as drug-derived, metabolites in a series of analyses. The Centre offers complementary Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) and Liquid-Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS) assays to maximise metabolome coverage. These services are modular and can be tailored to your sample volume or matrix requirements.
Guided monitoring services
Employing NMR or UPLC-MS methodologies, our targeted assays have the potential to provide quantitative information on discrete metabolites or screening panels. An efficient and reliable supplier of a range of standard assays, we are also a trusted partner when it comes to developing novel or tailor-made assays.
Chemometrics & medical informatics

We use a unique and innovative workflow that incorporates quality management in all aspects of laboratory operations, reproducing the ethos of excellence set by the 2012 Olympics drug-testing laboratory, and redefining operational standards across the entire field of metabolic phenotyping.
We deliver high-capacity metabolic phenotyping to samples using sophisticated, standardised experimental methods, developed in accordance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMEA) guidance. Post-analytical quality control performed by dedicated experts ensures that the data generated is valid and can proceed to the next stages of analysis. Not only does this level of quality control guarantee data precision, it helps harmonise phenomic methodologies, allowing this powerful resource to be easily replicated across the globe.

The Imperial International Phenome Training Centre (IIPTC) offers specialised basic and advanced practical training in NMR, MS and Data Analysis. IIPTC courses offer an interactive platform for tuition in all facets of metabolic profiling within a practical working environment. Our state-of-the-art international training facility equips students, scientists and doctors from around the world with new skills, enabling them to gain hands-on experience of using analytical technology to study metabolic profiling.
